We will walk through this amazing book about our Lord and Savior!
I can’t wait to get started and learn with you!
In this post I will give you some information about the study, the supplies that you will need, all the resources that I have for you, as well as some links to some products that I love to use in my Bible study time.
The first thing that I want you to know is that this is for EVERYONE! It does not matter if you have never studied the Bible or have been doing so for many, many years. I have the workbook set up so that you can choose how you want to study.
If you are a complete beginner to the Bible and Bible study, I suggest starting with the Scripture Writing. This will be a huge benefit to you later as you study.
If you have been doing Scripture writing for awhile and are wanting to begin to dig in a little deeper, then the SOAP method is a great place to start. The wonderful thing about this method is that you have the ability to dig in as much or as little as you need in the Observation section. This is a method that will grow with you as you learn and it is where I started out many years ago!
For those who have studied a bit more there is the Inductive Method. In the workbook I laid out my method for this study to help you if you are new to it, but feel free to work as you like.
There are printables in the workbook for each of these types of studies. You are welcome to print them off and use as many as you need during this study. You can also just use them as a guide and write in a notebook if you prefer.
For each month there is a Scripture Writing Plan and a study plan. You can choose to only do one of these or if you are brave, you can tackle them both! There is also a Journaling page for each chapter of John with a question to help you heart dive a little bit!

So, let’s talk about what you may need for this study.
Honestly, you can get by with just a notebook and the FREEBIES that I will be giving away throughout the year. In the freebie there are the prinable study pages, and each month I will give you a Scripture writing page. With this you can choose a section of Scripture to study and move along as we do.
But the workbook definitely has it all laid out nicely for you for the whole year.
I usually print my own paper and add the workbook to that. Here is a video where I showed my notebook set up to you for
This year though I am going to be doing something a little different.
I purchased this notebook and will be attempting to use it…..
I made sure that it had thick paper and has over 300 pages, so I think it will work. I will keep the printables in the front pocket and my KeyWords within the book.
If you are doing Scripture Writing you may want to consider getting some fun pens and/or stickers to add a little fun to your pages.
I like these pens and this set of stickers, but you can also use any kit or free printables that you have. I love using kits for this!
If you are doing more of a study, here are some items that I would suggest:
The Workbook:
Not using the workbook, grab a notebook like this one: https://amzn.to/4pctUzD
John Commentary by David Guzik. I like to have the physical copy, but if you want a FREE version, check out this site: Enduring Word Bible Commentary John Chapter 1
I also like this commentary a lot and use it on Logos (not sure if it is free on there or not)
Colored Pens if you are going to be marking Key Words
I also use colored pencils a lot. These are my favorite, but you can use any that you have.
A thin blue pen for marking Cross References like these: https://amzn.to/4jfS3E2
I write out all of my Scripture before I study it, usually the whole chapter. If you watched the video above, I showed you how I write Scripture on the left and take notes on the right. I like to use this pen for that. https://amzn.to/49dNWUx
For studying I prefer to use The Inductive Study Bible in the NASB95. This is just a great Bible as it has sooo many cross references!
I will also use printables and stickers to make my pages a little more creative. This really helps me to really take in what I am learning.
These items are not necessary, but if you have the means and would like to add them to your collection then I hope you enjoy!
Here are the FREEBIES for the study, you can find them all on the FREEBIES page. Every month there will be a new Monthly Calendar and Sticker set for you in the freebies section. Make sure you grab the one for the month because on the 28th it will be taken down and the new month added in.

Don’t Forget!!!!
When you purchase the Come and See John Study Workbook you will also get this kit for FREE! That is an $8.99 value! You don’t need to do anything, it will be with your downloads after you purchase!

Creative Coffee Hour

Join me for Creative Coffee Hour—a gentle space to slow down, sip coffee, and spend time in God’s Word through creativity. Grab your favorite drink, your Bible, and something to journal or color with as I read John 1 & 2 aloud.
There’s no teaching and no pressure to create anything “perfect”—just a quiet hour to listen, reflect, and let the Word meet you where you are. Come as you are and rest in coffee, creativity, and the Word.
Event will be held on ZOOM. I figured this way we could chat a bit .
